As long as there’s been steel, there’s been a need to protect it. Corrosion, after all, can slowly destroy your most important assets. Metalizing has always offered a superior alternative to painting, but the initial costs were often prohibitive. Fortunately, that has changed. With advancements in thermal-spraying technology, metalizing has emerged as the most effective and economical option available. At MTM Metalizing, we use our own patented electric arc sprayer that meets demanding specifications for quality, durability, and speed of application. The result? Metalizing now delivers an unmatched service life, with a much lower lifecycle cost and an upfront price that is competitive with conventional coatings.
The metalizing machines used by MTM Metalizing are manufactured in New Jersey, U.S.A. to exacting specifications for quality, durability, and speed of application. These machines are registered with the United States Patent Office and the Paris Convention of Countries. The "American Bureau of Shipping" has issued certifications for zinc and aluminum applications performed by these machines. Deposition rates of 1200 square feet per hour at 10 mils can be achieved, equaling and exceeding airless paint systems. These machines are capable of spraying wire diameters up to 3/16" of any metal that can be put in wire form. They can also apply different metals at the same time to form an instant alloy. Air pressure can be varied to produce rough or smooth surfaces, along with an adjustable spray pattern for small or large applications. Micrograph studies substantiate that this process is the only thermal spray application that has no porosity.
